MSU-Gensan Now | University engages in 5-Year Strategic Planning

Mindanao State University – General Santos kicked off its 5-Year Strategic Planning session on January 30-31 at the Greenleaf Hotel. The focus of the event is on recalibrating the University’s strategies and redefining its mission and vision to create actionable plans. The planning is spearheaded by MSU-Gensan Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, along with various university personnel, including Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, and Office Representatives.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Randy P. Asturias, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, highlighted the crucial role of strategic planning in institutional success. He emphasized that a clear and focused approach to goals is key to achieving it, stating, “The foundation of any great institution lies in a well-defined mission and vision.”

Chancellor Shidik T. Abantas presented his 8-point agenda, which serves as the foundation for the university’s strategic planning. He also underscored his vision of a collaborative and responsive approach to the university’s growth. “I want to be democratic, adaptive, mission-driven, and fostering excellence. Whatever my strategic plan for MSU Gensan is, I want it to be the product of all constituents. I want to hear your voices.”

The planning session is designed to revisit MSU-Gensan’s strategic goals, with a focus on fostering excellence and innovation to ensure the university’s sustained success in the years ahead.
