Mindanao State University – General Santos extends its warmest congratulations to Hon. Shirley Castañeda Agrupis, newly appointed Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Hon. Agrupis is a full-fledged professor and previously served as the President of Mariano Marcos State University.

A distinguished academic and visionary leader, Chairperson Agrupis also serves as a CHED Commissioner, earning recognition both nationally and internationally for her scholarly contributions and commitment to educational excellence. Her exceptional leadership has been honored through numerous prestigious awards, including the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award 2024 National Semi-Finalist, 2020 Regional Awardee), the Philippine Resilience Awards for Women, the Outstanding Science Administrator Award from NAST (2021), the Most Outstanding Ilocano Award (2019), and the William D. Dar Research Leadership Award.
