Admission Office

The Admissions Office serves as the linkage for University relations with other educational institutions. The office is responsible for administering and supervising the MSU – System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE) and rendering assistance to students who have concerns on admission.  It is in charge of the implementation of existing Admission Policies and Procedures to continually improve the quality and responsiveness of the admission process and to ensure fairness and equitable access of the applicants to the University’s programs. The office also undertakes studies and recommends improvements on Admission Procedure as to guarantee a comprehensive review of applications. It administers and supervises the Bridging Programs (e.g. CBP and PUP) of the University. It likewise establishes and promotes goodwill and rapport with the public, especially with all high schools in the region for a continuous input of freshmen students. 

Alumni Relations Office

The Alumni Relations Office serves as the link between the university and the rest of the academic community and encourages maximum participation, involvement and support of the alumni in the pursuit of the goals of the Mindanao State University – General Santos in particular, and the MSU system in general. The office represents the university at institutional and alumni programs and initiatives inside and outside the university, and foreign venues wherever possible. More specifically, the office has the following mandates: facilitate the organization of the university alumni in different provinces, cities, or municipalities and assist in the development of program/activities of alumni association; initiate programs, plans, or activities for the benefits of the alumni, and would – be alumni; maintain a database of alumni and undertake regular communication with all alumni; integrate and mobilize the alumni support, wherever feasible in the various initiatives of the university be it in instruction, research and extension; develop a continuing education program for the alumni; establish governmental and industry relations with the university through the help of the alumni; and develop a program that recognizes the contributions of alumni in the community and in the pursuit of the ideals of the university and perform such other functions deemed necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the office.

The Office of Guidance and Counseling is an integral part of the total school program and is consistent with the philosophy of Mindanao State University – General Santos (MSU-Gensan). The Guidance and Counseling program is developed by design, focusing on needs, interests, and issues related to the various stages of student growth. The Office is primarily in charge with the continuous process of assisting the student’s development and providing a good basis for broader education in the direction beneficial to the student’s well-being and society. More specifically, the Office is responsible in helping students thrive and recognize their individual strengths and challenges in a safe learning environment.  The Office is committed to individual uniqueness and maximum development in three major areas: academic, career, and personal/social. Hence, the Office is dedicated in providing and conducting various activities and programs such as orientation program, career guidance, counseling, psychosocial intervention, appraisal and testing, and referral services to the students.

The Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) is mandated to implement student-centered activities and services to facilitate a holistic and well-rounded student development as support to academic instruction. The function of the office is stipulated in CHED Memorandum No. 9, series of 2013 (CMO 9, s.2013).  In general, these academic support services are those that are related to: (1) “Student Welfare” which includes services and programs needed to ensure and promote the well-being of the students like Information and Orientation, Guidance and Counseling, Career and Job Placement, Economic Enterprise Development, and Student Handbook Development; (2) “Student Development” which includes services and programs designed for the exploration, enhancement and development of the student’s full potential for personal development, leadership, and social responsibility through various institutional and/or students-initiated activities; and (3) “Institutional Programs and Services” which includes services and programs designed to proactively respond to the basic health, food, shelter, and safety concerns of students including students with special needs and disabilities and the school. Hence, the Admission Office is connected with OSAS along with services like Scholarship and Financial Assistance, Food and Health, Safety and Security, Housing and Residential, Multi-faith, Foreign/International Student, and Services for students with special needs and persons with disabilities. In addition, the OSAS also include Cultural and Arts Programs, Sport Development Programs, Social and Community Involvement Programs, Transportation Programs and other related services.

Scholarship Office

The Scholarship Office (SO) is responsible for facilitating access to financial aid and promoting affordability for students pursuing higher education. It envisions a university where financial constraints do not hinder students from achieving their academic goals. With the support of dedicated staff and partnerships with donors and various university departments, the Scholarship Office provides comprehensive resources, guidance, and support throughout the scholarship application process. Furthermore, the office collaborates with external organizations, foundations, and alumni networks to expand funding opportunities and maximize financial assistance available to students.
