MSU-Gensan kicks off workshop focusing on academic and research growth
The Towards Global Excellence: Enhancing MSU-General Santos’ Academic and Research Profile workshop began with a successful first day on February 3, 2025, at the Icebox Event Space. Attendees were welcomed by Prof. Mishell D. Lawas, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Chancellor Atty. Shidik T. Abantas also delivered a powerful message, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and commitment. He stated, “Together, let us uphold the highest standards in research and innovation and continue to propel MSU-General Santos toward greater heights. Let us remain steadfast in our mission, driven by a shared vision to foster excellence in our midst.” Dr. Gaudencio C. Petalcorin Jr., Focal Person for Global Reputation of MSU-IIT, delivered insightful sessions on achieving university standards and understanding the evolving landscape of higher education rankings. The engaging discussions sparked thoughtful exchanges, emphasizing MSU-Gensan’s strategic vision for enhancing its academic and research profile and fostering excellence in all aspects of the institution. This marks a strong start to a transformative journey towards global recognition. The workshop will continue tomorrow for Day 2, with more sessions aimed at advancing MSU-Gensan’s global academic aspirations and fostering excellence in its academic and research endeavors.
